Let's say I want a rifle with the following:

Made and assembled n the USA, 100%. Apologies to our Canadian allies.
Old style Win 70 trigger. 3-position safety.
Chambered in 28 Nosler.
Ability to use a McMillan stock or similar quality.

Do I have to custom build this rifle if I want one?

How's the recoil on the 28 Nosler?

Montana Rifle Company chambers the 28 Nosler. You should be able to get close to your list with them. Stay tuned to this channel........ I'll be doing load work ups on mine in 2-3 weeks. My build is the same as your list. I'll be into mine for around 1500$.

And if you're not familiar with rifles from Montana Rifle Company, they're built to essentially duplicate (perhaps improve on?) the famous Winchester Model 70 design.

Good rifles, good people.

FWIW, Guy

I can attest they are that, a model 70 with many improvements. Made in usa and do chamber it.

Your looking at around $1500-1700 out the door pick up a used classic 7RM for $450-500 and rebarrel $600 and restock it if needed.

Doesn't look like MRC chambers the 28 Nosler yet, but I'm sure they will. They chamber the 26, so the 28 is probably not far behind.

And it does look like someone can get a McMillan for a MRC 1999 action. Same inlet as a 70, but a different bolt release cutout.

That means someone could get an Echols Legend stock, MRC barreled action...that would make quite the elk rifle!

Indeed!

And I'd think a phone call to MRC, might just convince them to build you a rifle .28 Nosler...

Personally, having hunted with the good old 7mm Rem mag quite a bit for a few years, it's all the 7mm I'd ever need. The 175 gr Nosler Partition at 2900 fps was quite effective...

Or you could just grab a 7mm Rem Mag and run a 7mm MSM reamer into and be done!
