280 Rem- Test Loads - 02/06/15

Superformance runs very well with 140 and 150gn Sierra Game Kings. I went "off the ranch" and worked up a load with 150gn SGKs, basing the load off 140s and working up. Pushed over the book limit, the SF ran the 140s at 3168fsp and the 150s at 3120fps. Outstanding accuracy with the 150s at 400 yards, as well as bang-flop results vs Kansas White tail.

Tried some test loads with IMR-4831 pushing some 140 gr Accubonds today. Besides my typical 2 in-1 out groupings (and the horizontal stringing), I can live with a hair over 1'' at 200 yards. I haven't had a chance to run this load over the chrony, but according to QL, it should be in the neighborhood of 2950-3000 fps. I might play with the torque settings on the action screws to see if that makes a difference, but then again, I may not mess with a good thing.
