Thanks Rev! I just found your post from awhile back with this same data, I was coming back to say 'don't bother' to Uncle Scotty, ha. Man I appreciate it. May God bless you with Honey Baked spiraled Ham! lol

With this long throat ( longer seating) I bet I can get to 60-61 grs pretty easy! Just hoping it shoots as good as the Hornady 154 SST!

When I couldn't find any Re22 for my .280, I went with IMR7828SSC. With the 150 ABLR I worked up to Nosler's max for the standard AB. Velocity as great but accuracy was poor at best. At Remington factory 150 gr. loads accuracy was right at 1.25" :( and the ABLR at 2.5". At Nosler's max I got 3010 FPS and 4" groups. In the Nosler manual, IMR7828 SSC gave only 10 FPS less velocity than Re22 which is why I went with that. Time ran out so I hunted one day with (UGH!) factory ammo. Finished the hunt with my .35 Whelen and collected a fat juicy cow elk on the last day.

I just loaded up some of these 150 ABLRs with the R22, dropping back a bit of course and slowly work up. They touch the rifling at the same length as the 168 ( 3.575"), but since they are shorter I'm seating them as deep as I can and still have some length at 3.48". I like having at least a full caliber or a tad more bullet shank in the neck for concentricity. They sure are beautiful bullets! My smith adjusted this new Timney down over the weekend for me to a crisp 2 1/4 lb, so it will be fun, lord willing, on Thursday. I like 7828, but got no joy with it and my Speer 160 HotCor trial. I also had no luck with Magpro and the 168ABLR. Sp far, this rifle loves R22. I got great results with IMR 4350/145 Speer BT, but I have more 760, so will try it later on with the 145.

RL22 is a great one. It works super for me in so many cartridges and it's always been very accurate as well.

Can't wait to hear how it does with the 150's. Seems like the perfect bullet for the 280 Remington.

Quick update. Yesterday it was clear, sun shine and 34 deg at the range. Although I was able to go up to 60gr R22, I reached the sweet spot at 59gr (2890fps av @ 34deg), same as with my 59gr/R22/Hornady 154SST (2900 @ 48deg) and nice tight cluster. Not too shabby for a 22 inch barrel! I tried 55gr/760/145BT and got 2870 ( as opposed to 2950/IMR4350/145BT) no ignition problems with the BR2 primer, but at these temps, if I want to use 760 I'll have to work on up. I was just seeing how close the two powders are this cold. At normal Fall temps I've had them be almost interchangeable on several '06 case calibers. Then came home and promptly slipped on the ice; both feet out at once, landed on butt, upper back, back of head, rapidly in that order...nothing broke ( I sure missed a great opportunity for it though!) at least my rifle was cased! ha It also got me out of walking the dog last night!

Nothing wrong with those velocities, Preacher. Sounds as if that load may hunt for you. Sorry about the fall; anything I can't stand, it's a fallen preacher. Don't ask how I know.

Well, I finally got some loads ready with the 150gr LRAB for my 280! Just need some warmer weather here in the Great White North to get out and try them! At the good Dr's suggestion, they are loaded 100 thou off of the lands to start, giving me a 3.673" coal in my rifle.

Using new Nosler brass, Federal 210 Match primers, and Vihtavouri N560, Reloder 22, and Winchester WXR powders to start.

Can't wait to see how they shoot, and what the velocities and standard deviations are going to be.
I will let you know when I do!

Gil, I am pretty amped to see what you get from them. the good Dr. seems to be doing well with his..

If I get anything like what Mike is getting with his rifle, I'll be very happy!

Will find out soon enough. But rifles will be rifles, and no two seem to shoot quite the same.
But if I get less than MOA and 3000 fps, then all will be good in my world! I know Mike's rifle gets 3100 fps and closer to 1/2 MOA, but if I get close to what Quickload suggests in my rifle, I will be quite content to hunt with those results.

I'm also hoping to get some load data from DrMike or Scotty. I'm a newbie here so be patient :)
I'm looking to load 150 grn NABLR in my Rem .280. DrMike would you please work up a load for my rifle? I've got IMR 4350, IMR 4831 and IMR 7828SSC in a 22" barrel with 1/10 twist, Fed 210 primers.

Thank you!!
Dan
