Good article.
I believe that I read this article back in the day before getting my first 280 Rem, along with a number of other articles.
Has long been a favourite cartridge of mine, along with being the first I learned to handload for.
The 280 is my favorite. Ive had my 280 Rem for 31 yrs and have killed a dump truck load of deer with it. Mine will shoot just about anything you feed it.
I love reading stuff by Jim Carmichel on the 280 Remington. One of my favorite articles by him is about his trusty pre-64 Clayton Nelson rifle that he used on just about everything, especially the part where he shot a distant crow from a yurt after being snowed in for a couple of days and the guides sulking for the remainder of the hunt. He’s a certified rifle looney with a great story telling ability.

I’ve always enjoyed reading Jim Carmichael articles and especially his writings about the 280 Remington. When Remington announced offering the 280 Remington in the 700 Classic I bought one and started learning what a fantastic cartridge it is, especially when properly loaded.
Just picked up some Norma 150 gr SP (brown and white box) ammo to try, at a good price. Not sure what bullet it is, but similar in appearance to Partitions, but from past experience with this generation of Norma ammo, they did label it as Partition ammo if that bullet was loaded. Any ideas as to what they loaded in the past?
Even if it doesn't shoot as accurately as some other loads in my rifle, I will have some ammo for practice, and good brass for reloading!
If it does shoot well, and he still has more, I'll pick up some more and have a good supply on hand.
