280ai 168ablr powder choice

I finished fire forming and barrel break in on my new 280 akley. Looking for suggestions on powder to push the 168 grain AccuBond and long range.

I currently have a stock n560 and 7828ssc im looking to use. I have Fed 210s, Rem 9 1/2s and cci br2. Norma and peterson brass.

22.5in, 1/8 twist barrel,


Any suggestion with those combos or can someone run quickload on both powders?

With that degree of accuracy, there is no need to step up velocity more than what you have.

I have had exceptional luck with RL26 in my 24" 280 AI with the 168 ABLR. If I remember right, it's running about 2940 fps.

I had no problem getting 2,950fps with Berger 168gr and IMR7828sc in a 26" Bartlein. There was still some room for growth.

The accuracy is hard to beat, I recall your group at 800 was like 2 inches or so. I once tried the ABLR in my 7 Mag, but the bullet was too fussy.

The 800 yard group was just under 2.0" and was with my 338 RUM and the 250 gr AB.

My bad, I had thought it was your 280 AI. Either way, both are awesome tackdrivers.
