I just purchased some Nosler .30 cal 150 gr e-tips for my 30-06, and did some searching for load data. I didn't find too much info and was wondering if anyone has any data that they would like to share. I'm new to reloading, and have reloaded a few hundred rounds so far.

Nosler told me that like to be .050-.100 off the lands.
The current powders that I have are RL-17, IMR 4064, IMR 4831, H4895.

thanks,

For the E-tip, It's recommended to start testing your loads at the bottom scale and up to the midway point of max with that being your max. For instance if the book says 48.0 to 52.0 is max for a 150 grain AccuBond, partion, or ballistic tip, you should not exceed 50.0 grains with the e-tip bullet due to difference in bullet hardness and pressure. Of course, you may reach max sooner if you experience flattened primers or heavy bolt lift.

IMR4064 is an excellent powder in my experience with 150 grain bullets in the 30-06. Although I haven't tried RL-17, that should be a pretty good combo. H4895 is another good choice. IMR4831 works better with heavier bullets imo.

Welcome to the Nosler Forum. Best forum on the internet...lots of good people here happy to help and we all treat one anther with respect. Many experienced reloaders, shooters, and hunters hear with tons of knowledge.

Welcome to the forum. Do you have a chronograph? RL17 and IMR4895 of the powders you have.

Thanks for the welcome. I don't have a chronograph yet, but plan to get one here in the future. I'm just looking for some min. to max. loads for the powders I had listed. I think I'm going to agree with YoteSmoker with using the H4895 and imr 4064.

I plan to load the imr 4064 first since I've very good results with lead bullets. What would be a good stating point be?

I don't have the nosler loading manual, and was looking for a starting point, or if someone has a good e-tip load.

Welcome to the forum.

Load your 150 gr E-Tip .100" off the lands for best accuracy.
IMR 4064, H4895, IMR4895, and RL 19 are all great powders for your 30-06.
As noted, the mid load is the MAX load for the E-Tips. Start low and work up.

My Nosler #6 Guide reads like this for .30-06 using 150gr bullets and IMR 4064. Min: 48.0 Gr @ 2,678fps. Mid: 50.0gr @ 2,793fps. Start at the 48.0gr load and do not exceed the 50.0gr. load.

IMR4895 shows this...Min: 47.0gr. @2,752fps and Mid: 49gr. @ 2,837fps. DO NOT EXCEED THE 49.0Gr. LOAD.

Work up from the Mid loads and check for pressure. I've taken a few coyotes with the 6mm 90gr Etip out of my .243 and a big California hog 275+- pounds with the 180gr. .30 Cal. Etip from my .300 Win Mag.

It's a little tricky to get them to shoot tight groups, but it is possible. The performance is great....and the patience you need to dial them in is worth the performance in the end.

Keep us posted on your load development.
I would be very curious as to where you end up seating the bullet off the lands. Most seem to have the best luck .100" off the lands but every rifle is different.
