Just added a nice Tikka T3 stainless to my collection and looking for some load suggestions for the upcoming spring black bear season. I have some 180 PT and was thinking RL22 or H4350?

I don't own a 30-06 myself. But one thing I've heard loud and clear is both IMR and H 4350 is the staple in the old -06.

Congratulations on the '06. The 180 grain Partitions will serve you well. It digests quite a variety of powders with aplomb, delivering good results. You're in good shape.

I use Hunter for 180 Partitions from my T3. Excellent accuracy and velocity.

Google "Getting the most out of your .30-06" by John Barsness.

H4350, RL-22 and HUNTER have all worked well in my .30-06 rifles, with 180's.

Those 180 Nosler Partitions are terrific bullets for the .30-06 or .30 cal magnums!

I'm doing 57.0 grains of IMR 4350, 180 grain Barnes TTSX, and getting 1/2 MOA groups.
Congratulations on the new rifle.

My go to load for the 30-06 180 gr PT was 57.0 grs IMR 4350.
Sub MOA accuracy.

When I shot the 06 extensively I used 61 grains of H-4831 with the 180's and 53 grains of IMR-4895 for the 150 gr bullets. Both were very accurate.

My 30-06 has a slower 1 in 12" twist and it seems it does not like bullets heavier that 165 gr.. :( I did use it with a 165 gr. Nosler AccuBond over a charge of W760 and it did do a number on a fairly large cow elk just this last January.
I have a couple of Remington M700's, a BDL and a Classic I 30-06 but neither one shot worth spit using either IMR or H4350. :?: :?: :?: The BDL was even worse with H4831. :( Guess I'll just have to play with them some more.
I have a potential build in mind using an FN style Husqvarna Mauser. I'd leave it in 30-06 but they came with a 1 in 12" twist from the factory according to the list in the Speer manuals. Haven't decided just what I will make it into just yet. Oh well.

The 165 and 168 grain bullets make a great all around bullet in the 30-06.

57.0g of H4350 with the 180 Nosler gives me 2780fps in a 23.5 Inch barrel and moa accuracy.

For a cheaper alternative, the 180g Interlock and 57.5g gives the same speed and same point of impact at 100y; similar accuracy.

If I ever owned a 30-06 I'd just have to try 4350 and a 180.... It would seem like a waste of components to not try it at least once!

Thanks for the replies. I have IMR and H4350, so will try them both.
