Four boxes of 30 cal . 150 grain Ballistic Tips just arrived for future usage. I'm sure Varget and H4895 will work nicely as a powder combo. I'm curious on what loads and speed you fellas use on those bullets. Should be wicked on deer since the 165 / 168 Ballistic Tips are not available which I always have used.

Edited: It's for the 308 Winchester, forgot to add.

308 Win? 3006, 3030, 300h&h, etc?

I’ll grab my recipe book…have a couple

Sorry, its the 308 Winchester

I kinda figured it was 308 Win since you had posted pictures of some spectacular groups that were shot with the 165's.
I'm waiting for my M21 308 Win to arrive. I'm going to start out with the 150 gr BT with Varget and RL15.
My buddy loves the 150 gr BT out of a 30-06 for deer, he gets DRT kills with that combo. I expect the same from the 308 Win.

I’ve had real good luck using VV
N-140 with 150 bullets in my .308.

That stuff has been as hard to find in stock as Varget is right now. It is a good option though if you have some on hand.

This has been my 308 load for years, it's worked well for me on deer and hog's...

Nice shooting, what was the velocity if you had run them through a chronograph ?

That is certainly enviable workmanship. You are showing yourself to be a rifleman. Groups such as that are definitely confidence builders.

That looks like a great load right there.
Nice shooting! What speed are you getting and what barrel length do you have?

I’ve been kind of stuck using the 165s in my 30 cal but see no reason a 150 would be a step down. Interested in hearing your results at the range.

I have been loading 150 gr BT in my Model 70 30.06 over 60 grn H4831 for 20 years. It is what I use for TX deer.

I don't have access to a chronograph but I would guess somewere around 2800 fps give or take a few...
