>30 cal BTs

Gday fellas,Im loading some 308 for a mate and he is using 30cal BTs 150gn green tipped.What sort of velocity do these open up and perform the best.Im also thinking of giving nosler a go in my 300 winmag for use on deer,What would you suggest?Would be somethin in the 180 gn region.

Any reasonable velocity with those 150s out of a 308 will function quite well. I have used them in an 18.5" barrel and in a 26" barrel. Don't try to load them for mega velocity, not necessary. Load them for accuracy, they will do the rest. For my 300WM I like the 165gr BT. Used them one day when I had run out of 180s and never have gone back.Rick.

Out of a .308 Win. The BT's work very well. Velocities are perfect!

165gr is the best weight ever for the ballistic tips. My browning .308 and remington 700 .300 win mag love them.

What sort of velocity do these open up and perform the best.

1400 fps minimum for initiation of expansion. Anything over 3000 fps and they tend to explode. :shock:
