Welcome to the forum.

The 300 Win Mag is a great all around cartridge. Load it witha 180 gr bullet and you can hunt everything from mice to moose.

The following load has shot sub MOA in 3 different 300 Win Mags.

180 gr PT
75.0 grs RL22
Federal Case
Federal GM215M primers

The 180 gr AB would also be an excellent choice as an all around bullet.
Remember to start low and work up.

My rifle really liked 74 gr rl 22 with a 180 AccuBond. My barrel length is 24 3/8th" and is a sako 75. It shoots 3/8" to .5" groups. My groups opened up a little with more powder. You will just have to see what the gun likes, but rl 22 beat out all other powders tested for me. Imr 7828 had good groups for me and I would rank it second on my list. I shot 76.5 gr with the 180 AccuBond. Strange thing is my best group ever was shot with this load(.200"), but I never could duplicate that group again. Consistant 3/4" groups with it. Just some food for thought.

Reloader 22, and your choice of 180 grain bullets. It's a great combination. A fellow could hunt all over North America with that setup and do just fine.

Thank you everyone for your help. I will try these loads in my gun to see how they work then i will let you know how they do.

I have the same rifle (Sako m75SS 300WM) and it shoots almost identical as GB300wm with same load (74.0 or 74.3 of RL22-cant remember)

In case you want to try a really fun plinking load try 58 grains of 4320 under a 150 grainer. It shoots well under moa for my tikka and allows me 3 loadings with my lee collet die before needing to body size the brass and push the shoulder back. YAHOO....accurate....cheaper....resizing without lube and plenty powerful for our Wisconsin whitetail deer season in the brush. Does about 2800 fps.

72gr of IMR 4831,180gr sierra gameking, nosler solid base,AccuBond & Fed 215 or Rem 9 1/2 mag rifle primer. I use a lot of the loads in the Nosler Reloading Manual as they're accurate in my Sako Mod 2700 in 300wm that was bedded & tuned by a master gunsmith in the 1980's when I bought it new from him.He did a Sako 300wm for a friend of mine who can put every round in the same .308 hole.

I've had very good luck with the 300 Win mag using Reloader 22 and 180 bullets.

JJ,

What is your charge weight, 75.0 grs?

Mine does its best with 74.0 grains Reloader 22. With 74.5 it starts to open up some. With 75.0 grains groups go big. Federal 215 & 215M primers. Also done well with Remington 9 1/2M primers. For some reason mine does not like Winchester primers std or mag. Curious what primers everyone else is using on the 300 Win mag?
