Hey, I may have asked this question before. Anyway, I would like to know if anyone has any good loads for 150 and 180 grain partitions. Just to be clear I want BRASS, BULLETS, POWDER, AND PRIMERS. Thanks Guys!!

An outstanding game-taking load that I've used off and on for 20 years is:

.300 Win mag, 24" barrel

Winchester brass
Federal 215 magnum primers (CCI mag primers work well too)
70 grains of IMR 4350
180 grain Nosler Partition

This load will produce around 3000 - 3100 fps in various rifles with good accuracy. The 180 Partition penetrates clean through most critters (everything I've shot) and kills 'em right dead. It is a max load according to my old Nosler manual, but has never given me any trouble.

Have also substituted Reloader 22 - an excellent choice for the .300 maggie. A max load of this, 75.5 grains, will produce around 3100 fps with very good accuracy too.

Hope this gives you some of the info you want. Regards, Guy

180 Partition
76 gr rl22 or H4131--max loads
win brass
215 fed caps.

3000-3100 fps pending on rifle and barrel length

My Sako m75 SS loves 180gr Accubonds with 74.0gr of RL-22, Federal 215mag primers, Winchester brass and Winchester Supreme nickel plated brass for my hunting loads. Under 1/2" 5 shot groups @ 100m. Ded on zero at 300m. I had loads up to the max 76gr but the group started to spread out starting at 74.5 and over an 1.5" @ 75.0gr so I stopped. I too have some 150gr Accubonds but I believe the 180gr is the best bullet choice for this caliber for all big game.

75g RL-22 and any 180g bullet should shoot great. Use w-w brass and fed 215 primers. Velocitys runs 3000-31000 depending on rifle. Usually a very good accurate, hard hitting 300 WM load!!

Seems to be the magic load for the 300 Win Mag and 180 gr PT:

75.0 grs RL22
W-W case
Federal GM215M primer

Shoots sub MOA in 3 different rifles.

JD338

Here's what work for my 300 Win Mag Model 70 Laredo LRH.

180 grain Hornady BTSP
81 grain H 1000
Federal Gold Medal Brass
Federal 215M primer
Velocity from 26" Barrel 3000 fps

180 grain Barnes TSX
75.5 grain IMR 7828
Winchester Brass
Federal 215M primer
Velocity 3000 + fps

I agree that RL-22 can be great in the .300 Win.mag.Have used it and it works! However, the past two years I have loaded with H-1000,180 Partition,Lapua brass,Fed.GM215m primer.Velocities are 3000-3100 fps.,averaging 3080 fps. with accuracy of .4"-.7" depending on me!I have tested this load (in Texas) at temperatures of 25-75 degrees and the velocity and accuracy is consistant.I wish RL-22 were as consistant, but it seems to be all over the map.Have had good luck with H-4831sc,also.The Lapua brass has more internal volumn than Winchester brass so load accordingly, but start low and work up.The Partition shot diagonally length wise through a deer this year-from front of chest to lodging under the skin of the oppisite hip.Perfect mushroom!(started at 180 grs.-recovered bullet was 100.5 grs.).
