I have been loading for my buddies 300 WSM trying to find a load for it with 180 gr. Accubonds. With various powders and charge weights, my 3 shot groups at 100 yards had been running from between 1-3 inches. That is until I used enough IMR4831 (65.5 grs) and H4831SC (70.0 grs) to each produce a velocity of about 2930 fps. The rifle and barrel harmonics must have really clicked. The 3 shot group with the IMR powder gave me a .447" 3 shot group. The Hodgon powder group came in at .272"! This from a Winchester Model 70 that has been glass bedded, a trigger job, and has a 3.5 x 10 Zeiss Conquest scope on it.

I don't believe I need to search any further for a load. Either one is terrific! I shoot nothing but Nosler Partitions and Accubonds. They are both fantastic hunting bullets! Thanks again to Nosler for their great products. Now if they would only make their Model 48 rifle in 6mm Remington!

Agree. I think that just maybe, you're there...

Nice load work!

It certainly sounds as if you have found a sweet spot for that Model 70. Great bullets that are performing well in a great rifle.
