I'm an experienced reloader and have worked up loads for several rifles and hand guns. But components are getting pricey so I'm wondering if anyone has successfully worked up the following load:

Savage model 16 in 325 WSM
Nosler 200 gr AccuBond
Winchester brass
Reloder 17 or H4350
CCI 250 primer
OAL 2.870 is .020 off the lands

Thanks in advance,
Bruce

Bruce,

I've worked up loads for my 325WSM with 200 grain ABs, but I used Big Game and IMR 4350. I would imagine that H4350 would work quite well. I do use H4350 when I'm shooting 200 grain Partitions. I get sub-MOA groups and decent velocities. In fact, my hunting load is built around 200 grain PTs and H4350. It works quite well on black bear, elk and moose.

I had poor results with imr4350 (2700fps/2moa)
and great results with RL17 (2880fps/1moa)
out of a kimber 8400
65grain max as per alliants website
I bought a pound of big horn a year ago..... but never got around to trying it.

65grains /IMR4350 2910 fps

Winchester Mod 70
Nosler 200 gr AccuBond
Winchester brass
65gr. Reloder 17 (MAX Load!!!)
CCI 250 primer
COAL 2.850
MV 2902fps

...couldn't get the AB's to group quite as good as the 220gr. Sierra SBT's, the 200gr. AB's w/ Superformance had very good accuracy, but MV was pretty disappointing...

I just ordered my first Chrony so I don't know velocities yet, but I am getting terrific results accuracy wise with Ramshot Big Game. I get 1/2" groups with a 63 and 63.5 grain load, WLRM primers, 200 grain Accubonds.

Also, shot a really good batch of groups with RL17.

200 grain Partitions with IMR4350 also shows me signs of greatness, but I haven't loaded them enough yet to make the call.

Fire Hawk,

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting. Big Game works very well for me in my 325WSM. I have tested it with the 200 grain AB, and it gave me exceptional accuracy. I did not, however, get the velocity I expected. It does work very well with the 200 grain PT, however, giving me a very good combination of velocity and accuracy. If I weren't so afflicted with tunnel vision, I'd actually choose the load using Big Game over the load built with H4350. I would get about 100 fps increase in velocity and accuracy that runs about 0.31 MOA. I'm behind on testing, however, so I lazily continued with H4350. The 325WSM has served me well with a very nice variety of animals in the past several years. Again, good to have you aboard. May I invite you to wander over to this thread (http://www.noslerreloading.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22761) and give us a bit of an introduction? I know the rest of the members on this board would welcome the opportunity to get acquainted.

No Winchester Aficionado can maintain the status without owning one. Let's get moving, Marine.

Rgr that Sir! I am trying Mike.... It'll come around soon enough I am sure...

As a follow-up here's what I ended up with:

Savage model 16 in 325 WSM
Nosler 200 gr AccuBond
Winchester brass
64.7 gr Reloder 17
CCI 250 primer
OAL 2.870 (.020 off the lands)
2905 fps, ES 7, SD 4
.457" 3-shot group @ 100 yds

Results were duplicated on two separate trips to the range. H4350 was 55 fps slower and not nearly as accurate. Next on the list is the 220 gr Sierra Gameking.

Nothing wrong with those results. That has to be quite gratifying.
