325wsm - Running short on magnum primers - have plenty of standard rifle primers. Do you all think I'd be fine with the substitution as long as I stayed out of the really cold weather? Thanks!

I think you may be alright, as long as you're using a stick powder. Most of the load data I've been able to see for the 325WSM uses either WLRM or Fed215 primers, but Alliant did a lot of work with RL15 & RL19 using the Fed210. Velocities were in line with what you'd expect, so I can only assume it was a workable deal, since they published it, and it's not reduced loads. Good luck.

I use WLR and F210 in several loads in my 325 WSM. Because of the short powder column, you will have no problems. In very cold weather (say -30 or lower) I prefer to use magnum primers, or if I am using ball powders. Otherwise, large rifle primers will work just fine.

I use H-4350 and WLR primers for my 325WSM loads. I have shot them at the range in 25* weather without issues. I agree with Dr. Mike in using a mag primer with ball powders, certainly at these charge levels.

Thanks for the input guys! I'll stick to the extruded powders and let you know how it all works out.

Scott
