.338-06 Ackley Improved

Is a 1:9.75 too fast of a twist for a .338-06 Ackley? I friend is offering me a great deal on a .338 Rock barrel with a #4 contour.
 
I think it should be fine. The standard twist for .338 cal is 1:10".

Its a good rate for the .338-06 AI. If you use the 250+ grain bullets you'll be glad you have it. For what it's worth, the 200, 210, and 225 grain bullets are probably you best THUMP for the that rifle. I kinda want one.....
 
A great cartridge, had one many moons ago, loved the caliber, disliked the rifle. It eventually turned into a 35 Whelen.
 
I wouldn't think you would notice much difference between a 1-10" twist. The 338/06 is a good one.
