338-250AB @ SPS

I saw them, had to check my inventory for many bags I currently have....y'all are safe, I have more than plenty to last me a long while.

The 338 250 gr AB is a great bullet and what I am using in my 338 RUM. It poleaxed a crop damage doe a couple weeks back at 350 yds.

:( i'm a day late seeing the post

have more than enough 338 bullets for now but no 338 noslers...

figure not worth a whole new thread for this question:

338-06AI should be here within a few weeks (fingers crossed)

I have seen through previous posts on the forum that some of you have a 338-06/338-06AI or at least have experience with them.

Will the 338-06 A-Square brass work and fireform to the 338-06AI? I'm understanding the A-square was a matter of who took it to SAAMI for "factory specs", but are the 338-06's being built by custom guys running the same dimensions?

Just looking on sps seeing the 338-06 A-square brass, bit pricey but figure if I travel at some point down the road could be nice to have something with a 338-06 head stamp. so just buy a box and sit it on the shelf for now

Wise move on your part, Tim. Anticipate the need before you are there. Consequently, brass will not get any cheaper in the immediate future.

Tim, One thing I notice about Nosler brass. Its good, it goes fast, and it doesn't come up very often. I buy when it comes up. It doesn't rot and a friend might really need some.

Tim,

The Nosler brass is good stuff. I agree with you on having proper head stamped brass.
It should fire form nicely in your AI chamber.

Like Russ mentioned, pick up a couple boxes and you will be set for many years.

Tim,

I have one and it's a sweetheart you will love it. I used 06 brass but got some 338 brass I plan on using too. I'm running 225AB at 2800. It's a pleasure to shoot. If you have questions once you get it PM me.

not the 250AB's but they currently have the 200's in stock

just ordered 2 for myself thinking they will do just fine on a black bear or a deer this fall (if the gun is ready)

Tim,

The 200 gr AB is a pretty robust bullet and it will work very nicely at your 338-06 velocities.
I shot them at 3200 fps from my 338 RUM and they held up well and shot very accurately.
