.338 Engels?

Never heard of it but looks like a much longer 338-06. Don't think I would have fired that actually unless the bullet was jammed into the lands. I like the fellow doing the video, he has a pleasant demeanor and some very cool guns. This one is no exception.

One source says that it is based on the 300 Wby case...another talks about modifying the 9.3x74 case...neither source discusses any info on bullet weights and/or velocities...while compared to the 338-06 case for comparison, they do not say that it is providing similar performance...
Pretty vague so far...

Must be a rare wildcat , not much out there on it.
I had never heard of it before yesterday. Looks kinda like the Gibbs cases, blown out length, minimal neck. It must be something like that to be able to fire a .338-06 in the chamber.

Yes, the .338 Engel is a specialized cartridge developed for long range sniper applications. It is not as widely available as the .338 Lapua Magnum but is still of interest to some shooters and firearms manufacturers.

It’s a lot like the .338-06, but I’d fire only with the bullet nearly touching the lands. The presenter’s calm approach and interesting collection make it worth watching.
