Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and searched the net looking for some possible load data. I've been using noslers for some time now in mine and my wife's 308win and my friend's 270wsm.

Being left handed, I decided to have my Rem 700 VS converted to the 338 fed. Alberta Tactical Rifle is doing the work and I'm getting a Lilja 26" stainless barrel installed along with blueprinting of the action, and a Badger Ordnance bolt handle installed.

My question is, if anyone knows of any load data for this round? Could I use the 338 200gr. ballistic tip bullet for moose, bear and deer? I've read that the 338 ballistic tip bullets are made tougher. I don't want to go over 210gr bullet weight since I'm concerned with seating depth and powder space.

Thanks for the help,
Mike

I believe Nosler beefed up the jackets on the 338 200 grain BT.Myself I perfer the Partition when trying to break big bones.

The 200 gr AB has replaced the 200 gr BT offering. The 200 gr BT is only offered in the CT flavor or factory seconds from Shooters ProShop.
A better choice for the really big /fight back critters would be the 210 gr PT. This is truely an amazing bullet. It penetrates deeply, and delivers tremendous shock. Exactly what you need for a bad angle on a Moose or bear.
Go with the 210 gr PT and don't look back.

Which bullet would be typically more accurate, the AC or PT? I have no experience with the AC yet. Would anyone know of a source of load data for the 338 fed/338-08?

Thanks,
Mike
