I have pulled more 338 LM bullets than any other cartridge. It didn’t seem to matter what powder I used I was running into pressures with a couple grains of minimum loads.
I started to think it must be the cheap ABM brass. So I ordered 50 nosler brass. I figured I’d stick to the slowest powder I have that builds the least pressure, Us869.
Taking it straight from the nosler data I loaded a ladder from 100-104 in .2 intervals. I found a great node at 103.2-103.8. I loaded up 15 rounds at 103.5gr right at 3.65” COL that clocked right at 2690fps.
With this load I have finally got a winner with the 300gr AccuBond. The first three rounds shot a jagged hole at 100 yards.
Then fired a group at 300 yards
I think this is a load I can hunt with this year.
