CorrectGuys, don't take offense to this, but if you can load a 270 Win or 22-250 to 64-65K PSI then a Whelen won't know the difference either. Pressure is pressure.
Now, saying that I don't think we gain a ton getting that last 3-5K PSI out of a load unless that is where it shoots. I shot the same cases for YEARS and years shooting a 250 Speer or Partition at 2640FPS with RL15 from a 24" rifle and I never lost a primer pocket or had a bad case problem. I am sure you can see from the data I was probably into the 62-64K range.
I just don't think SB6.5 is a great powder for the Whelen unless you're getting into heavier bullets. Now, CFE223 or LVR seems to work really well, as will RL17, but you gotta be slow dropping that amount of powder in an 06 sized case.
