Thought you guys would like to see the Nosler bullet expansion from a 35 Whelen.
Test media is gallon water jugs at 100 yds.
Bullets tested are 225 gr PT, 225 gr BT and 250 gr PT.

As usual nicely done!

What were you muzzle velocities BTW?

Pop,

The 225 gr loads have a MV of 2650 fps and the 250 gr MV is 2500 fps.

Very lethal for NA game.

Thanks for the test I am considering a 350remmag and shooting partitions out of it.

The 350 Rem Mag with a 225 gr PT is a hammer for most any big game animal in NA, but not excessive for deer size game.
With all but the biggest game, you will get a nice exit wound without excessive meat damage.

I just purchased a Ruger stainless synthetic 350 remmag. I am stuck with factory rem 200 gr untill I get reloading supplies.

The 200 gr Pt SPCL will work fine on deer. When I got my 700 Classic in 1988, I used the 200 gr load for the '88 and '89 seasons and killed 2 bucks each year. I recovered 2 of the 4 bullets. I switched to the 225 gr PT when it was introduced in 1990 and never looked back.

Where are them darn Accubonds in 35?

My sources tell me Spring 07 for the 35 cal AB.
I know I will be hunting deep in a cedar swamp with the 35 Whelen
and some 225 gr AB's.

That 35 Whelen sounds like fun!
I think I would snag one if I did not already have a 9.3X62.
I hear that Remington is chambering the 35 Whelen in the CDL, that could be nice
I just hope Nosler comes out with those dang accubonds in the 9.3 and .35 soon! :x
