Just got a BLR in this caliber. I am looking for some loads. Specifically for deer/elk use.

Any suggetsions would be appreciated. If known please list your velocity. Thank you in advance.

Accurate in mine, but I'd say you want more horse power.

47grs H4895
200gr Hornady PSP
CCI 200
Win Brass

Velocity 2380fps. I am a few grs below max, but it shoots good. I have only taken one deer with it, tailpipe to boiler room @ 70yds, died instantly.

For deer/elk 46.5grs of H4895 and the 225gr Partition its 2430 fps from my 20.5" barrel.

I also use 46.8grs of H4895 and the 200gr Hornady spire point at 2490 fps, but will suggest using the Remington 200gr Corelokt PSP if you use a 200gr bullet for elk. Its has a thicker shank section than the hornady but still expands fast on deer. This is from side by side shots from my sand back stop the rem is tougher in the shank but works great on deer.

Midway USA has both but with elk on the menu the Partition what I would use. And sense the only component change is the bullet working up two loads is not a big deal. Also there is no muzzle flash with this powder with 20" barreled guns. I think the Partition will expand just fine on deer as well.
