358 Norma with 225 BT

I'm jealous, that would make an awesome elk/bear gun. I have a whelen and its a super round. I really like the 35 cal for big game. The whelen may not me a barn burner but what ever I have hit with it goes down for the count. I would try some 250 part. at 50 yds my gun easily shoots 1/2 groups. I live in Western OR where most of my shots are about that range or closer.

Hello-
I use 69.3 grains of H4895 and a 225 Nosler Partition for all my moose hunting. It chrono's at 2950 fps out of my 23" barreled Sako. Accuracy is under 1 moa. I've tried 77.5 gr. H414 with a Barnes triple shock but I couldn't get the accuracy that I can with the partitions. R-19 is a good powder but it takes 80 grains of it for a highly compressed load and beaucoup recoil. I've heard that N-150 is good but I haven't tried that one yet. The H4895/225 Partition is such a good load , I think I'll stop there and move on to something else. Hope this helps.
