Found 500 6.5mm 140 VLD's for $120 bucks at a pawn shop and had to buy them, have been shooting 140 Hybtids with stellar results, appears the VLD's will perform as well. BC is on par with the Hybrids, time to stretch them out to 600 and 1,000!

That is definitely in bragging territory. Congratulations on the find and on the work you're doing with them.

What powder and charge? Are you jumping or jamming the vld's? What is your throat and free bore on your chamber? Sorry for all the questions, but I am in the middle of load work for mine and need to know how close it is to my specs.

40.0grs H4350, 0.015" jammed into the rifling, CCI BR4, get 2,740 with it out of a 27" bbl, attached is the reamer I used.

Shot it at 600, looks like a great load, wish I hadn't dropped the one out though

Pretty similar to mine. I have a .295 neck and 180 FB. The necks have all been turned to about an 80% cleanup. Still playing with a couple different bushing for neck tension. I'm using 140 hybrids with .012 jump. My barrel is telling me it likes 40 grains of H4350 with the little work I have done at 100 so far. Will be doing testing at 300 now that the initial load work is done.

Just got a pointing die that I used 4 different levels of pointing on to test. My gunsmith uses the 6.5X47 for his benchrest light gun at 1000 yards. Said there is 5-6 inches difference in vertical between pointed and non-pointed 140's at that distance. If there is that much difference on the vertical, wind deflection has to be improved as well. His G7 BC calculations for the pointed 140 hybrid is .345, which puts it close to the 180 grain 7mm hybrid (.350). Should be fun to test.

Was shot 1 a cold bore shot, or had you fired some fouling shots before that? The other 4 look pretty good. (y)
