Just a heads up....my rifle acquiring habits are on hold, as I just bought a new Husqvarna.......lawn tractor..... :?

It was time...needed it to really keep up with the yard, but holy smokes did that one hurt the wallet!

Anyway, for those who'd mentioned before they liked the SBS, here's a factory new one.... :)

Could be a great deal for someone. I don't imagine your Husqvarna will bag and deer, but it may keep a dear pleased, ensuring a long and happy life. Good move, Tom.

Thanks, lol. Actually, she could care less HOW the yard is kept...I could gnaw it down with my teeth for all she cares, long as it gets done. That's probably why she was a hard sell on why a new tractor would be in my best interest. The existing one had a raft of minor to semi-major issues that I was dealing with, and finally I'd just had enough. Now instead of cursing my way through that chore, I turn a key, stomp a drive pedal, and it's done in about 1/3 the time.

Man, the rifles I coulda bought with that money, though.......it hurts just to think about it!

Fortunately, we have short summers. However, during that growing season, grass (to say nothing of weeds) seem to appear overnight. My wife holds to the opinion that the lawn needs mowed on a regular (read twice a week) basis. At the moment, I still nursing a couple of broken toes (she hasn't twigged onto how I am able to go moose hunting just yet). So, the last couple of times she has sweetly said, "If you start the mower, I'll mow." I nearly broke a couple of more toes rushing out the door to start the mower. Whew! I would gladly pave the entire yard, except for frost heaves. Not even this worked:

That is perfect!!!! I need one!

My wife has done the push-mowing, I do the tractor mowing. She refuses to learn to use the tractor, saying she can't mow with it if she doesn't know how it works.

What is good (and bad) about the new lawn tractor is that I can do areas with the tractor I couldn't before, so now I almost don't even NEED the push mower, just the tractor and the weed eater. She should be doing backflips over the new tractor, as it made null and void her agreement to do the push mowing. That's unnecessary now.

For some years I tried to explain to my wife that I was seeing if I could create a habitat for elk within municipal limits. It hasn't worked, yet. However, hope springs eternal.

I was worried I'd bust up the new mower on a deer in that grass in my yard. I figured they'd hold pretty tight in that thick cover...

Those Huskys are nice tractors Tom. It won't help you take elk, but it does give you more time for the range and reloading room!

Yes they do. You have to be darn near on top of them before they will move, from my expirence of cutting 3+ foot of alfalfa and oats. They don't like to give up there beds!
