Hi i have a Remington 700 LTR with 20" barrel to test and write an article on. i have found it awsome the 6.8 can push a 130gr projectile in a bolt gun at 2660fps the 85-90gr projectiles at over 3000fps. This calibre is perfect for most new shooters and anyone that would like to have a more versitile rifle than a 223. the 6.8 gives a substantial step up in balistic performance than any other calibre in the same class. i have used 135gr Sierra MatchKings at 2630fps and they are equivelent to a 223 with 80gr MatchKings at 2900fps that load is commonly used back to 1000 yards and i have shot this remington at 1000 yards with great accuracy and little recoil. If i had a spare action i would definately build one and if i had the money i would buy this rifle it will kill animals up to medium deer and feral pigs humanely with little recoil 5 shots in the rilfe and just beautifull to shoot then use a 85gr projectile to use it for a varmint rifle and it has a dule role what could be better.
