6 BR custom build

I am having my target single feed 6 BR built with a 26 inch heavy 1:8 twist Bartlien barrel,pillar bedded, .271 standard neck, .100" freebore, Jewel 6 oz. trigger, Mc Millian stock and I am hoping for some opinions / advises on what you guys like. The action will be black with stainless steel barrel. What stock, color, bipod and cheekriser would you prefer? I just can't make up my mind.

Bipod: Atlas or? Just need an attachment for future use, will use a Uncle Bud bullbag or Caldwell rest.

Cheekriser: Saddle or thumbwheel, or clamp bar thumbwheel?

I like the Urban and Woodland Spectre and the Desert Ambush. I have buddies with both of those Spectre colors and both are nice. You can put a rail on it for future use. I wouldn't do the saddle. The clamp bar or thumbwheel would look best. All 3 are functional and for the most part the cheekpiece never moves as long as the scope stays the same but the saddles are a bit ugly and it would be harder to sell the stock with one in the future if you chose to sell it.

This seems like a very serious rifle, for benchrest competition!

Cool. Cheekriser? Consider just buying a stock with a high enough comb?

And, since I don't compete in benchrest... I think I'm done commenting 'cause I'd be over my head.

A Remington 700 action, just like my 6.5 x 284 and 300 Winny. I did not want to spend another $1500 for a custom action. I like the A5 McMillian, I have several of those on my rifles but curious what you guys have if shooting tactical or benchrest.

Idaho, I have the Urban Spectre on my 6.5 Creedmoor from GA Precision and its really nice. I agree on the saddle comment, i prefer the thumbwheel which the Creedmoor has.

The only McMillan I have is the M40A1-3 I had made some years ago and used on my SWAT rifle, a short-action Rem 700 with a Krieger barrel chambered for 308 Win, using the 95 Palma chamber.

It's a very comfortable stock from multiple different positions. At the time I was doing some NRA prone competition as well, and the stock worked nicely for that.

I too build a Multi use rifle in 6 BR on a Remington 700 action. It is however a magazine feed. It has 30" Brux. I used McMillan ATH stock for this rifle.



My daughter shooting this rifle for the first time printed this 5 shot group at 110 yards.
