Well, I'm starting down a road I've never been on. I'm mainly going to be target shooting with this rifle, but may like to hunt with it as well. It is an Encore with a 1-7.5 twist, 26" barrel. Most of my hunting(42 years)has been done with muzzleloader and rifles 35 caliber and up. Heavier bullets by a long shot. I have one area where I could have a longer shot. 300 yards would be my maximum. I shoot 17 and 22 cartridges passed that, but for varmints and this would be for deer or antelope. I've been loading the arc for my friends howa with a 22" barrel. Velocity and accuracy wise, his rifle loves the 80 ttsx at 2995fps. I know I will gain little if any fps, finding accuracy. The biggest issue is finding an appropriate bullet for myself. It's far more likely for me to have a 40 yard shot as anything, but want something to perform at my max distance as well. Which bullet would you guys choose for durability up close but work to 300 yards, if you were me? My thoughts are 90 tac-tx, 80 ttsx, lrx, AccuBond, scirocco 2 etc.
Thanks in advance
Jamie

I’ve had 0 luck getting the Scirocco to fly from mine. The 90 tac-x is interesting I will admit.

I’ve seen enough big hogs killed with the 108 Hornady eldm from 60-100yds from a 6 Creedmoor that I’ll have my Howa 6arc loaded with those in the fall.

Another bullet I have on hand is the 95 NBT but from what I’ve seen the 108’s will be hard to whip.
