Nice day so I found some range time. Took my newly built 6mm Creed out for a test run. It is built on a Howa receiver and a heavy varmit Krieger barrel finished at 28”. It rest in a MPA chassis and I moved my Vortex GE over from my 6.5 Creed.61A7E360-2DE8-4B24-8D53-7AE89B7A286A.jpeg
I worked with Starline and Peterson brass , both SRP. Bullet choice is Berger’s 105gr VLD Hybrid powder Alliant RL-17 primer Federal 205M. I seated them 0.020 off. Speed was checked with a Magnetospeed.
Starline 39.4 = 2918 fps
39.6 = 2966
39.8 = 3947
40.0 = 2974
40.2 = 2978
40.4 = 3002
40.6 = 3005
40.8 = 3030
41.0 = 3048
40.2 = 3049
Peterson 39.4 = NA
39.6 = 2967
39.8 = 2980
40.0 = 3009
40.2 = 3035
40.4 = 3037
40.6 = 3086
40.8 = 3092
41.0 = 3108
40.2 = 3145
I forgot to put Magnetospeed on the first shot with Peterson but all 20 rounds grouped together 7BD27314-C3E5-4C7F-8B39-5C1C483193E8.jpeg
I loaded 3 each with 40.6grs of the same RL-17 and shot a group each AE769710-FD3C-471D-91EB-3DB68A0F9069.jpegF1714198-19CA-4C3A-9391-B05EF04B7552.jpeg
Starline brass has more capacity than Peterson. My goal is to run at 3200fps and neither of these 2 showed any pressure signs , so I have room to go up.
