6x45

These 6x45's in AR's are just plain sweet. Just got back from test firing my newest build. I started with the gas port at 0.81" but it wasn't cycling properly(ejecting but the carrier wasn't going back far enough to pick up another round. I went up to 0.085"(same as Les Baer uses in his 16") and it ran like a top. Now its got a M-16 carrier so it's heavier than the semi version. That might be why I needed th extra gas or it might've just needed broken in more. The cases ejected perfectly, 7-8 feet away at exactly 3 O'clock in a 1-2 ft pile. I just shot 30 rounds for function. It has open sights now but will throw a scope on it and see how it shoots at distance.

I never would have guessed! Maybe you could find something in 35 caliber. I don't want you hunting and shooting for too much longer without a proper 35 cal in your arsenal. You wouold just hate me if I let you continue on too much longer without one. Scotty

Why would I want a small caliber like the 35? I'm thinking 458 SOCOM.

Because a 35 Caliber rifle will make venison taste better, water taste clearer, your eyes will see things they have never seen and the list goes on. It is a life changing experience. Ask Mike and Jim. They'll tell you too! Scotty

Brian, it'll be fine. If you keep resisting I am going to have to turn to Matthew in order to keep your household balanced. If figure if I get Matthew on my side, I have won the war! I should just mention to Holly that a 35 Whelen would be the last rifle you would ever need, but I see that going badly as well, for me since you have met my better half! Scotty

That's the beauty of the AR platform. They've advanced so far and become so versatile since my 1st M-16 A1(made by General Motors).
I've got 2 in 6x45, 2 in 6.5 Grendel, a 50 Beowulf, a 243 WSSM, a 223 and a 338 Federal in the DPMS LR platform.

Its basically the 243 WSSM necked up.
