Today I made it out to my range in the swamp. It’s been extremely wet here the last 2 months. I finally got some rounds down the 224 Wby and also brought the 30-06.
Have a few round of 180gr AB Grade C and 220gr RN left to fire. Both shoot extremely well in this rifle , been post on the forum before. Today was no different.

The 224 Wby is a little disappointing. The 70gr Bergers and 55gr Sierras show promise.

The Barnes 62gr TTSX and Nosler 64gr BSB need work.

I did notice this barrel is running about 200fps slower than it should based on the little info I found. I also have another issue to resolve , might be related to the reamer I rented.

Some seating depth change may tighten that up. Did you do 3 shots in .1 -.2 grain increments with the .224? Possible node between wide charges. I have some faith with Ballistic Tips or the ELD-M , give them a try.

What's your twist?

No real work up yet. I just loaded a few to find pressure , backed off and load several of each bullets. I need to fire this brass in the camber before any load development. As mentioned I have an issue to resolve and hoping fire formed brass will solve it.
