Does anybody out there have any good loads for my 7 mag using the 150 grain nosler ballistic tip bullet. I was thinking of IMR 3031 or Reloader 22 because I already use those on several other loads.

Thanks

If your loading the 7mm Remington Magnum the Speer book has loads for RL 22. The new IMR loads don't show much online anymore since Hodgdon took over.

The old IMR manual shows 51 grs as max at about 2850 fps and to reduce it by 10% so you should work up from 46 grs.

You could call IMR and Alliant on the phone Monday and they may give you loads.

61.0 gr of VV N165 behind a 150 gr NBT is my go-to accuracy load in my Hart-barreled 7mm RM. This load shoots in the .3's with great regularity and moves along about 3100 fps if memory serves.

RL22 for the 7mm Mag.
Also try some Federal GM215M Magnum primers.

Agreed

Previously I used IMR4831 with great results but RL22 is becoming one of my favorite 7mag powders. I'd try 63 - 67grs of RL22. 215GMM is all I use in my 7 mags now.

dad3220,

If you're referring to the 7MM Rem Mag, then I use 63 grains of IMR 4350, Fed 215 primers, and 150 grain BT bullets for a velocity of over 3200 FPS and accuracy like you would not believe. And this combo is deadly on Rocky Mountain mule deer.

Good huntin',

Tom

68 gr of IMR 7828 gave me 3150 fps with the 150 BT. Also 67 gr or so of RL 22 will do that too. Work up slooooooooooooooooooooooooow!
