7 mm Rem Mag 175 grain and 160 grain Partition with IMR 4831

I've happily used H4831 with both the 175 and the 160... As well as Reloader 22. Excellent velocity and accuracy with either powder.

Have not tried your IMR powder though.

That 175 Partition is one heck of a deep-penetrating bullet!

My go-to powders for the 7mm Rem Mag are Retumbo and IMR 7828. Both are compressed loads, just never got 4831 to work for me.

I would like to try the 175 grain Partition in my new 7RUM. That 175 sounds like one heck of a bullet.
BTW-what kind of velocities can you get out of a 7RM with the 175grain Partition?

Im getting great accuracy with 175g SBT's and 60.4g RL-22. Good for only 2810fps, but with 1/2 MOA. I can run them up to 2900fps but groups open up horribly. This is out of a factory 24" tube. I will be trying some 175g ULD RBBT's with H-1000 and hopefully I"ll get 2850-2900fps with the same 1/2 MOA accuracy. I might try some RL-22 with the 175g ULD's as well, but I would rather find a load with H1000 then RL-22.

Reloader 22 for the 7mm Mag and 160 AB

second choice IMR 4350 with 160 grain AB

Everyone has suggested good powders......H4831, IMR 7828.....are good powders also........I kinda use alot of IMR 4350 in the 30-06, 338 Win......and my 7mm Mag........makes life simple!

Purchase the Nosler Reloading Guide 5th Edition they have loads they've worked up that I've tried and were very accurate in my sako 06 and sako 300wm.For your 7mm mag 160gr most accurate load with imr 4831 is 63gr = 3006fps.The most accurate powder tested is Viht N165 using a max load of 61gr 2904fps. For the 175gr 56 gr of imr 4831 =2690fps. The most accurate powder tested is RL22 max load of 62.5gr 2970fps for the 175gr nosler Partition. They used magnum primers in their loads.

RL22 for the 7mm Rem Mag and don't look back.
