Hello,
I'm new to this forum, and I tried to search 7 STW in the search function and nothing comes up. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I'm looking for a good load for the 160 AccuBond with Retumbo, for the 7 STW.
Thank You

slush,

Welcome to the forum. Check out this data for the 7 STW published on the nosler.com site.

http://www.nosler.com/Reloading-Data.aspx

This is a great cartridge, capable of cleanly taking most of the game in North America. My hunting partner often carries a 7 STW using 160 grain ABs. It certainly smacks moose and elk with authority.

IMO the powders listed for the 160's on the nosler sight are too fast for good STW loads. They only have one load that is even at 90% density. Then they don't even list RL25 with the 160gr bullet. Sometimes I wonder what their test tecks were thinking.

I ran 168 SMKs with RL125 in mine at 3150.. I based my load off of Alliant's data. Go to their website if interested in RL25.

I agree with AntelopeSnipers opinion, Nosler's site tends to lean towards faster powders..

Probly go with nothing faster then H1000 and less then 160g bullet.

I would personally go with H1000 and the 162g amax for starters, but thats just me. The AB will work nicely though, or I should say a lot better then the amax for the close range stuff, and still perform great at longer ranges as well.

I've never used Retumbo, but I get good groups with 77.0grs of either Winchester WXR or Reloader-22 with the 160gr Accubonds.

h 1000 78 gr. 168 gr.bergers outta my buddies stw gives him a 7" group at 1000. he also has a 28" hart brl. and nightforce

Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here. I agree with you that the 160 AccuBond is one of the best choices out there. You can get 3200 fps or so and talk about flat!!

I would try H100, RL 25, Retumbo. If you want some Quickload help PM me. :!:
