Can someone at Nosler tell me why they do not make a 160 gr 7mm Ballistic Tip? Would it not be a perfect compliment to the 160 gr AB and Part?

The problem is capacity, Nosler is building a lot of different bullets.
I shoot the 160 gr AB and buy seconds. They are cheaper than buying store bought BT's.

I will most definitely be on the lookout for the 160 AB seconds, but I do like the fast opening Ballistic Tips. I am currently loading 160 gr Part. 160 gr AB's, 160 gr TSX and 162 gr SST's, since Nosler does not make the 160 BT's. I like to stick to the same weight bullets, just changing construction to fit the game I am hunting. Makes things a lot simpler that way.

Because they make the AB and PT. What can a 160 BT do that the other can not?

Beings how no body else answered I will give it serious attention. Hmmmm I really don't know? If you are looking for something a little cheaper to pratice with and similar performance to the BT, try the 162 gr, Hornady BTSP, I find them extremly accurate in my 7's with a similar point of aim as the PT and AB.

Same here, all of my 2nds are red tipped!

You have no Nosler seconds that are White in color???? You got me to buy a whole bunch?

Bill, I gave you my only bag of white tipped 7mm 160gr AB's when you visited VA! All the rest of mine have red tips. I may have another bag of whiteys around, but I haven't seen them on the bench. Scotty

Well I for one would rather have a BT as well. They are better then the Partition and AB as far as opening up at LR to ensure a kill. They are more accurate then either as well, and they are cheaper for two, plus your right, that red tip is freaking HOT!

NBTs work great on all kinds of game as long as your not using the light for caliber weights in magnums and trying to shoot shoulders out of stuff at 50 or 100 yards. Match the weight to the game to the range and you wont have any problems bagging game with NBTs.

I agree - for my application I would prefer BT´s as I primarily hunt whitetail deer plus a few pigs. I think they open faster for quicker kills, may be more accurate (but the 160 AB is very, very accurate) and in normal form (ie no seconds) are half the price. I have been using the 162 gr SST´s with pretty good success but I think the BT´s would group a little better in my rifle.

One poster asked what could a 160 gr BT do that an AB or Part not do? If we followed that logic, then why does Nosler make 150 gr BT´s, AB´s and Part????

Laizzes les bon temp roulette!

Jim, keep your eyes on the Shooters Pro Shop as that is one of the more popular bullets that is for sale most of the time. Scotty
