I am just getting started reloading. I have a Rem 40x 7mm br that belonged to my dad. Will this gun shoot out to 300 yards? Thanks for any help you can give.

A 40x in 7mmBR will surely get you to 300 yards in fine style.

That should be one heck of a good shooting rifle!

Regards, Guy

Tony, I shoot two Remington XP-100 pistols chambered for the 7mm BR cartridge. That shell is very popular with pistol silhouette shooters. We routinely shoot out to 200 meters with those guns. We also have some specialty matches where we shoot out to 500 meters. You would be amazed at what can be done with one of those pistols at 500 meters.

Most guys I shoot with use the Sierra Matchking bullets, and as of late the Vihtavuori powders are really popular, especially N 135.

Have fun, R F

I have one of the Model 7s that Rem made. It has taken deer out to 264 yards without a problem. I shoot the 120gr Nosler BT with IMR 4198.Rick.
