I got a Holland brake installed on my Rem 700 BDL in 7 RM. I only wanted it so I could see my own impacts at Long range. I have been working on some 175g loads w/RL-22 as some might know. My target is a big piece of poster bored paper with a bunch of squares drawn. I like this so I can see all my targets and what not on 1 target, makes it easier to compare and see what I need to do. I think I have settled on a load consisting of 175g SBT, 60.4g RL-22, W-W case, Fed 215, OAL is 3.320" Velocity is 2815fps average. Group size average is .4" for 2 groups at 100 yards. Also shot 3" at 400 yards. Took a couple pics of my rifle and the range as well as the target with all my loads I tried in the last couple of days. Enjoy!

Its kinda hard to tell whats what, but I'll try to explain. All the groups circled are from my 7 RM. The top row is 175g SBT's and RL-22 from 61,62, and 63g. 61g is the 2nd square, I believe 62g was the 3rd square, and 63g was the 1st square. From that sequence, 61g shot the best. So that led me to load up 60.4, 60.7g, and 61g. Those group are the top left. You can see the little cluster group and thats 60.4g Rl-22. Just above and right is 60.7g, opened wayyy up. Just below and left is 61g. Pretty spread out. So I went ahead and loaded 60.4g once again and also 60g as it looked like they were grouping better with less powder. Those groups are the bottom row. The 60.4g group is the 2nd square, nice little .3" group. The 60g load did not shoot as good as 60.4g, its just to the right or the 3rd square on the bottom. So it looks like 60.4, 60.3g is probly the sweet spot. The 3 shots on the very far left is the 400 yard group that was 3". The middle row of squares was used to test some 162g amax w/retumbo, and a couple loads I already knew were contenders, 140g btip and 168g VLD. The first square in the box is 71,5g retumbo and 162g amax. Group was about .9" The group right below that was 73g and it was .8" at 3175fps. The 2nd square, group circled at the bottom is the 140g bt with 68.5g Rl-22 at 3250fps, .7", first 2 touching. The group to the right of that is the 168g VLD with 63g RL-22 at 3000fps, again .8", but first 2 touching. The next group, far right square, middle row is 61g Rl-22 and the 162g amax at 2850fps. That was a nice .4" cluster. I have shot 3 groups at 100 yards with that load and they all look the same as that one. So as you guys can see, this 7 RM really can shoot. This is pretty much just preliminary testing trying to get an idea of what will shoot and what wont. Ill be working on a couple of the loads and see if I cant get them any better.

Sounds like you got a very good system going, Remingtonman!
I am especially interested in your results with Retumbo, I would have thought that it would be too slow for a 7mm rem mag-obviously not!
I am going to try that Retumbo in some more calibers, for sure 8)

Good job there Remingtonman.
Look like you are ready. I hope that the next pics you post are of you and a nice big bull elk!
Good luck this season.
