Bullet
Powder
Charge
Vel
Group size

Cheers Guys
.

I have found with my 7mm that seating depth is far more important than powder charge. This is what I am using in my browning a-bolt w/26" barrel.

Bullet -160 partion
Powder-IMR4831
Charge- 63 grains
Vel- 3040
Group size- 1/2-5/8 100 yard
4 " @ 500 yards

Go with a non-temp sensitve powder. Take a look at Hogdon's site for H1000 and Retumbo.

h1000 works well also with the 160 gr. Around 70 gr or so.

Cheers Guys

Has anyone got quick load that could run figures for rl22, 160AB and 150BT out of a 26" tube please.

Think im gunna give rl22 ago... maybe! lol

Got Nosler #6?

160g AB, max RL22 - 63g

150g PT, max IMR 4831, 65g, about the same for RL22.

YMMV.

I have a couple of reloading books and they vary on loads by upto 3-4gr's

even when you go the powders website that i have noticed on some loads to vary aswell....

I know the old addage of start low and work up, which is what i will do untill i get the most accurate combination. but with thing like quick load they seem to be prety accurate with regards to velocity etc which also helps when trying to work out rough drops etc.

Of course, different reloading books vary on their recommendations. They were shot from different rifles/barrels. However, if its recent data (within about the last 10 years) in those books, all have been well pressure tested.

QuickLoad is just a programers scientific wild a$$ guess. For your safety, start somewhere in the middle of the most recent "valid" data you can find. Good luck.

ETA: See the discussion below, start at the top of the thread:

I am using RL-25 in 26 inch barrel (stainless) on pre 64 action. 67 grains gives me 3085 fps with both the 160 grain Acubond and North Fork HP. 68 grains gives me a bit over 3,100 fps. I have standardized on the 67 grain load. Probably not as accurate as RL-22 but a bit more velocity.
