Would someone be kind enough to run some Quickload numbers for me? I would greatly appreciate it.
7mm Rem Mag
IMR 4831
139gr SST and 140gr Ballistic Tip
COAL 3.250”
26” barrel
I’m going to come up with a deer load for a long power line. Kind of a generic load to be used in 2 of my 7mm RM’s. I’ve read that IMR 4831 has one of the lowest flame temps for suitable 7mm RM powders, 3720 if memory serves correctly, and is a very accurate performer in 7mm RM.
FYI: Varget and Vihtavouri 500 series double base powders seem the hardest on a throat burning between 4000 and 4100 for flame temps.
It does great in my 270 and after looking at my stocks I have 17 lbs of it. It appears I’ve developed quite the hoarding condition regarding powder, primers, and brass for years now.
