I just picked up a 7mm rsaum with a 24" barrel. I would like to shoot a 160 gr acubond and was wondering if anyone has any tested loads and actual velocity. Thankyou for any info.
Welcome to the forum.
The 7mm SAUM is a pretty cool round. I would think you should be arouns 3000 fps with the 160 gr AB making for a great all around load from deer to moose.
The Nosler RG #6 calls out H4831SC as the most accurate powder tested. Starting load is 55.5 grs and MAX load is 59.5 grs.
hat would be a good starting point as I have always had good success with Nosler's most accurate powder tested loads.
Stay tunes, I am sure the fellas will be able to help you out.
I would think RL22 would work very well out of the Rem Short Mag. I am running the 160 AB and RL22 in the 7WSM and it works very well. I don't think there is a big difference between the two of them. Good luck with it, pretty hot performer in a small package. Must be similar to a 280AI is case cap?
