I found a box of Hornady 100gr HP when looking threw my stash yesterday. They are a neat looking little bullet. Problems is I can't find any load data for them and would like to shoot them in my 7RM. I had got these when I was shooting my Contender with the 7mm Waters barrel.
Does anyone have some reloading data for them? Hornady doesn't even list them anymore.

Talk about a flat liner! You will have to smoke a yote with that combo just for grins. :)

Got to find some load info first, I don't think Hornady even makes this bullet anymore so it will be short lived when I find a load for it but it will be fun.

I'd bet a call to Hornady would get you some info...

In the meantime - please refer to the Hodgdon Data Center online for 100 grain bullets & the 7mm Rem mag:

http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle

They're showing 11 different powders, with velocities approaching 3600 fps. That thing is going to be a coyote's worst nightmare...

Thanks Guy, The bullet they're showing is the Sierra 100gr Hp and I need it for the Hornady. Yeah it will be a hummer and should turn most thin skinned varmints inside out.
They did a good job on ground hogs out of my Contender 7-30 Water's when I was using it.
That round in a 14" barrel was deadly and flat shooting. It was a little hard to shoot with the recoil it developed even for someone who was use to it. I had a muzzle brake installed and the Smith didn't get the the threads centered right on the barrel and the bullet was hitting the brake as it left the barrel and screwed the accuracy up big time plus the muzzle blast was very nerve rattling so I just retired the barrel.

Hornady No. Six lists the following maximum charges with the #2800 HP bullet:

65.0 grains of W 760 (3500 fps)
68.6 grains of IMR 4350 (3600 fps)
70.1 grains of N 160 (3600 fps)
65.8 grains of A 4350 (3400 fps)
70.6 grains of IMR 4831 (3600 fps)
74.1 grains of RL 22 (3600 fps)
72.6 grains of RL 19 (3500 fps)
72.9 grains of H 4831 (3500 fps)
73.7 grains of A 3100 (3500 fps)

Thanks DrMike, Shame I only have one box to play with but then that might be a good thing since at those velocities I would probably be looking for a new barrel pretty quick.

...I've been shooting the 100gr. Sierra HP's thru the 7 RM for years, 73.8grs. of IMR-4831 is max, I've been using 73.5grs. @ just under 3700fps. from a 26" barrel. Fun load for the occasional pdawg, porcupine, varmint, or rock that needs shot. Works really good for popping off grouse heads...
