Hi,

Have loaded some 8mm Accubonds 200grs to test in my 8x64S Brenneke, will be back after range test.
Rifle is a Brno ZG-47 orginal barrel, only improvment is plastic bedding.
Begin with Norma 204 powder.
But compared to the 7x57 it looks very powerful!
Hope to find a fine moose and wild boar load......

First testing:

Bullet: Nosler 8mm AccuBond 200grs
Cases: S&B 8x64S
Primer: Fed large rifle standrad
Powder: Norma 204, 57grs (Norma 204 slighty slower than IMR 4350)
Fps: 2611

Presents moderate pressure, one or two grains more is OK.
Will even try faster powder.

Done some bullets test.
Shoot the 8mm AccuBond in wet newspapper at 2620fps from 10yds.

Holds together real fine and penetrate around 23 inch.

Nosler AccuBond in the middle, left Laupa Naturalis 180grs and right Norma Oryx 196grs.

The bullet worked very fine and was gently at the short distance, around 40yds. After the hit the deer run 10yds before it gave up.

Now looking forward to see how the combination works for big game?

Anyone who hunt with the twinnbrother 8mm-06??
Experiance of loading 8mm-06 would also be of great intrest.

Will soon start to try the Barnes TSX 180grs also, time to try unlead bullets to have a good hunting load for 2008 when proberly the lead will be banned for hunting in Sweden.
