Shot the 9.3 x 62
Wind still blowing pretty well but.....
It's wearing a Burris in the pics as the VX3 2.5x8 lasted one shot. Broken erector I believe.

Kodiak 270s, 56 RL15, 100 yds, around 2450-2500.

The two flyers here are totally my fault. Flinched, pulled, whatever. These are 250 Woodleigh Weldcores and I didn't have any more loaded. Sorry for the pulls, I would have liked to see what this one would have done.

Rifle was formerly a 70 XTR in 30-06 before reboring. I like the way it turned out.
If I really had to I guess I could hunt the 270s now if they confirm it next time out.
Cool cartridge IMO.
No pressure signs or issues other than the scope. :x

Good to go. Pity about the Leupold. Such things do happen, however.

That rebore looks good too, a couple of great rounds together with your 338-06. Should be a real nice thumper, the 9.3x62 is one of the classics.

Too bad about your Leupold if it was going to die on you at least it went quickly instead of the field somewhere. The Burris should be a tough scope, no doubt the 9.3x62 will give it a good test.

Great group with those Kodiaks! Heck, I had a new Burris 3x9 fall apart from a Ruger 77 338WM back in the 90's, replaced it with a 2.5x8. later on I put that scope on a 5# custom 340 Weatherby and the gutss came apart, replaced it with a Zeiss Conquest 3x9, it last less than 20rds. I had that rifle rebarreled to a 338WM, shot the 185s with only Mag Na Port ( the 340 had a KDF style) put the repaired 2.8 on it. Its still going strong. ( I gave that rifle to my Pastor in Texas.) It can happen to any of them. I think you did extry good by having that Mod 70 rebored. My first 9.3x62 was a rebarreled Mod 70 Featherweight Classic. It was a great shooter, but it should have been with that Krieger barrel, ha. I like the 9.3x62, but my heart was stolen long before by my 35 Whelen AI...two peas in a pod except for buffalo in Zambia, ha. I hunted with it one time and then gave it to my then Youth Minister ( young family, no money) as I knew he would use it. He shot a big spike elk with it that fall with the 286 NP. Its a killer.

Very nice Dewey. I'd say the 9.3x62 was a success. Looks like it'll do you proud. Great bullets as well. Not much will hold those suckers.

Very nice Dewey. Looks to be a shooter. Too bad about the Leupold. Send it back, you should get it back in a couple of weeks.

The 286gr Partition is about the best bullet going out there for the 9.3x62. Be careful with running the 270 speer’s very fast as they are quite soft and don’t hold up with velosities over 2400-2450fps. Might work for a whitetail but I wouldn’t use them on big game again.

I haven’t had any expereince with the 250 Ballistic tips or the accubonds but the 286 partitions have proven very accurate and up to handling all the punishment the 9.3x62 can dish out.

Good info Bear
Thank you
The 270s I'm running are from Kodiak up in your area.
I have the 286s to load up yet and plan on messing more with those, the Kodiaks and the Woodleighs

I have seen nothing but great results accuracy wise with the 286 Partitions from you fellas on here with a 9.3 already. Can't wait to see your results Dewey!

Nice!
