A Deal is a Deal

You should look up to see if there’s a Black Walnut producer in your area or near you? They’ll buy them from you! Evidently there’s some people that really love eating them. Might be worth a trip to recoup some of your expenses on those trees.

Grew up selling black walnuts in KS. A black walnut milk shake from Braum's Dairy is a must any time we are back in KS. We bring a pkg of black walnuts for cookies and cakes here in Canada. They are an acquired taste, apparently.

Those kids should/could have bought a 22LR rifle with their walnut picking money, and some ammo to boot.
But then the little shysters...er, entrepreneurs, would be out for 5 cents a squirrel tail too!

Don't know if the offers still apply, but Mepps used to exchange their lures for squirrel tails. Collect the tails, salt them, and send them in for an exchange. Plus, squirrel (fox and grey) weren't bad eating.

Believe it or not, but before Christmas, I think they pretty much just saved the money. I only heard of one purchase being made with the walnut money and that was for a Lego set. I figured that the kids might use some of it for buying Christmas gifts, but I never heard one way or the other. I suspect the parents will "help" them decide what to spend it on. My guess is that they still have most of it in their wallets.

Yes, I see Noah has a squirrel tail collection growing. But I hadn't thought to what end...
