Well I deided that it had been a while since I took a drive around the farm and checked things out. It was 25 degrees this morning so I figured it would be a good day to see a yote or two. Boy was I right!
The first yote I saw running in a hay field, she stopped broad side for on last look. I heald just over her back and let a 55 BT fly. WHOP!!! Just over 400 yards right in the shoulder. Really nice little hole, very little pelt damage.
The second yote was running in a wheat field and wasn't going to stop. Gave him a bit of a lead and WHAMMY!!! Right in the shoulder again at 200 yards, this time it left a dandy of a hole!
I was on the phone with my little bro telling him that I was two for two and all sorts of excited when he told me that he was wathing one eat a dead calf infront of his house. I pulled over and watched him chase a few crows off, then go back to eating. Guessed him to be 300 yards so I just held right on him and smoked his furry butt!
The fourth one saw me comming and took off. I got ready and sure enough he had to stop to look back. Held over his back and let a fourth 55 BT fly. All I saw was him turn and bite at himself then all legs went up. I put the gun up and walked out to where I thought he was but couldn't find him. There was alot of sand dunes and big tumble weeds in that area and I didn't have all day to look for him.
That makes 8 yotes for the new 243 in a month! Five of those were this week! Don't worry little deer and pheasants, I got your back!
