If someone doesn't mind, I need a idea of where to start for R-25 with 208 Amax's in a 300 Weatherby and with 300gr Nosler Ballistic Tip round noses for the 458 Lott using R-7 and R-10x. I'm putting them both together to test brakes and will try to be around 300wm velocities (2950-3000+fps), or slightly higher, in the 24" barrel of the 300 Weatherby. The Lott is to approximate the recoil of a smokeless muzzleloader. A customer is shooting 310gr bullets 2700fps in his muzzleloader so I need to be above that. I'm pretty sure I was shooting between 86and 88grs of R-7 with a 300gr Barnes around 3000fps the last time I whacked a bear with it but can't find my loading data.
While we are at it, if you don't mind..... a 308 with 165gr Speers and 180gr Sierras SBT's using 748, H4895, or R-15.
I might even strap my Remington 700ml .50 caliber to my test sled while I'm out there.
