Thanks! Learned that an extra 30-40$ for the stock manufacturer to put on the ebony tip is worth it. Well worth it.

I think that is true of the factory offered upgraded recoil pad too. Oh well, live and learn.

Put everything together and had to take some more off the ebony tip in order for it to be floated. grrr... Thankfully the dry climate here allows for multiple coats of tru-oil in a day.

Here's a before and after of the stock. I'm happy with it and happy with the experience. There is a bit of figure that you can see when held just right, but the camera can't pick it up.

Maybe someday next winter I'll checker the stock.

Thanks! It was the classic model, least expensive. I wish the figure would have popped out a little more. it's a subtle secret that you have to look for in order to see it.
