Thinking of picking up some ABs to try initially in my new Accumark and was wondering would RL25 or 7828 be the best powders to start with? It's been a few years since I loaded for the 257.

Velocities at maximum charge are so similar as to be indistinguishable. You'll need to use a heavier charge of RL25 which will add a measure of recoil and give you slightly less cartridges per pound. Better? I really am not prepared to predict which will perform better for you. Either looks good.

Cartridge : .257 Weath. Mag

In "MY" Vangard I got better accuracy with the RL25. Accuracy was good with the IMR7828 but the RL was a bit better. Both were max loads.

I'm loading RL22, 68 gr w CCI Mag Primer in a Weatherby case. (realize you didn't ask for RL22)
Less than an inch at 100 and 3300 and change.
OAL 3.225

edit: By the way, I tried RL25 and didn't get near the groups I got with RL22, FWIW.

If you're wondering about RL-22 and the 110gn AB, I found 68.5gn of the -22 powder with Fed 215 primers pushing the 110ABs made a really tight group @ 100yds. My 257 Roy likes the bullets seated to the longest length that will fit in the magazine so I've never had to work COL to shorter lengths to find the "sweet spot" of accuracy. Call it lucky.

Just worked up a load with my 257 Bee fibermark 110 AccuBond

69/rl22 3510 fps .6" a 100 yards

Thanks FOTIS. What was your OAL and what charge did you start at?
