Folks ,
I've got a new Remington 700- 22-250- VSSF rifle.
Has anyone used any of the Accurate or Ramshot powders loading for a 14 twist 22-250?
In particular 4064 and 2520 , TAC or BIG Game. I'm not a fast guy, accuracy is way more important to me.
Shot some 40 grain Varmagdedons for a nice clover leaf - first shots down the tube, but it was going about 3700 fps, and I like to get into the 3000 to 3300 range. Also tried some Sierra 52 grain HPBT but it wasn't a good group. I would bet that was operator error!! Last night I loaded more 40s-52s-and 50 Varmagdedon So far it seems like a good rifle. Does anybody shoot one? What are the pros / cons??
Thank you in advance for your time and help.

"Down South 68-69"

I used to have a M700 VLS in 22-250 with a 14t.
Varget with the 50 gr BT and 64 gr BST shot sub .5 MOA. I struggled with the 55 gr BT until I pushed top end loads . A shorter bullet was the ticket with the 14t.

Flat base versus boat tail experience with that platform?

Length of bullet issue.

Ok...
But have you compared fkat base versus boat tail ?

In 22 cal bullets I've found flat base often times out performs a boat tail.

I cant say that with most other calibers but definitely found it with 22 cal

I have not made a dedicated comparison but the Nosler S.H.O.T.S. 50 gr SP did outshoot the 50 gr BT in my 22-250. Best group went .187".
Again, I believe that the shorter SP bullet shot better in the 14t barrel. I have no data for faster twist barrels.
In my 22 Nosler which has an 8t, I've gotten well under MOA with the 70 gr RFD, TMK and AB out to 400 yards
