Tomorrow I put the deposit on a custom Accurate Ordnance barreled action built off of a Stiller Tac30 AW action with a Brux barrel chambered in 308.

Still going to need to find a stock, bottom metal, and trigger but for now that can wait until the barreled action is paid for.

You never regret having quality components. Should be fun watching the progress on your build. Vicarious builds turn on a lot of us old duffers.

Hurry up already!
We want to live vicariously through your build. [emoji1]
I, as I'm sure others are, am looking forward to your progress.

Yes I have to agree, I enjoy the building as much as shooting  did I just say that!
Looking forward to the progress of this build  photo are always nice as well!

Blessings,
Dan

Here are two AICS chassis with Viperskins if your looking at a chassis system these tend to work pretty for me at least.

Thanks gents. I am leaning towards a Manners T4/T4A with minichassis as it defeats the need for glass bedding, just a simple bolt in and go AND it runs the AW mags. Also looking at a Timney thin shoe trigger, probably set at either 2.5 or 3 pounds.

Have to decide on barrel length and if I want to run a brake or not. I will talk to the builder tomorrow and see what he thinks.

Just an update. Not really a hunting rifle, but I have a plan for another build just for that purpose

Got the build finalized, just gotta pay off the balance. Here are the specs:

Barrel was finished at 24" since this is my paper punching/learn LR shooting rig
Manners MCST4A stock, AO black forest camo
Manners MiniChassis; being skim bedded
Timney 510 thin shoe, set at 2.5#
Atlas rail
Flush cups x 4( 2 left, 2 right)
All metal is being cerakoted in AO Spider Monkey green
The bottom metal modified to run the AI AW mags

Should be completed very soon, as soon as they send me some pics of the build process I will post them up

Sounds fantastic . I have a Manners stock with the minirail so far I really like it!!
Good luck with your build.
Have you thought of what your hunting build is going to be?

Blessings,
Dan

Got a pic of my parts today. Headed to be crowned, then cerakoated, and then bedded. Sooooo excited.

The new Vortex Raxor HDII 4.5-27. All that I have read has shown that it is giving the Schmidt and Benders a run for the money, literally.

I like that power range for a long range rig as you will not be in need of any extra magnification! I think you will enjoy it as much as the rifle for sure ! What kinda mounts and rings ya going with? I wanted to go up in magnification on my PMII but really did not need to where I shoot at as 1000 yds is max range yardage but out on the mesas you can do about any yardage ya feel comfy with! The $$$$ picked my magnification but I like SPHUR mounts as you can do so many things with them such as angle cosign & bubble level's are built into back ring which I like but I went with a Near 3 ring mount!

Standard Seekins rings. The SPHUR is a really nice system but with a 20moa rail and since I won't be shooting further then 1000 (I hope) the Seekins will do.

The magnification on the new Vortex is perfect to me for my intended uses (punching paper and ringing steel). All the reviews have shown that even on the lower settings there are no issues with eye box or anything. They even have a 3-18 available but for a few more dollars the 4.5-27 is worth it.

I think you should be GTG with those rings as they are for sure quality! Sounds like a nice build and can't wait to hear how it shoots small clover leafs or even bug holes :)

AJ,
Looks a awesome man! Congrats on a sweet build. You gonna run 175 SMKs out of her?
Joe

Thanks Joe. The SMK's are gonna be run, but not gonna count out Bergers, Nosler CC's, and Hornady's offerings.

Just got a pic in from Woody at AO. The machining and cerakoting is complete. Headed to be bedded next. Getting close!!!
